Robuts.
Last week I finally got to see Wall-E. Now while I might have thought this movie was some kind of Wal-Mart propaganda film, I was pleasantly surprised that it was about a cuddly little robot instead. Like most of the the Pixar movies I've seen, I enjoyed this one too. My favorite parts were the wackos and okay, when he finally holds her hand. Maybe I'm just a closet sucker for romance.

Two movies. . .
After one long day I decided to wrap it up with some movie watching. First one for this evening was Body of Lies. Cool damn show, but I need to watch it again when I'm not so tired and having trouble following the story because I keep dozing off at the most inappropriate moments. What I liked most, of what I could follow, were the wise cracks between Crowe's character and DiCaprio's character.
Then I decided to catch a midnight showing of Quantum of Solace, the new James Bone flick. I'm still not as ga ga over these new incarnation of Bond movies, but I liked this one more that I did Casino Royal. After watching this movie I now want to go back and watch Casino. . . again because this one added a lot more to that story. Of course the action sequences in these movies are brutal, which is always cool, but I think this gave a little more insight to the character. . .or at least the new incarnation of the character and why he's so vicious. Not ultimate movie material, but they're getting better.

Quick note.
I feel like writing something but don't have big movies to report on. So I guess I'll give a comment or two on the rented or recently bought movies I've watched recently. Halloween (Rob Zombie remake): It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But I still like his music more than his movies. Street Kings: Kenau Reeves as an edgy cop? OK movie, not spectacular. Hell Ride: Um . . .no comment. Sleepy Hallow: I love this flick. As I said, not much to report on, I just felt like writing something.

Not too Payneful.
What can I say? Max Payne was an alright show. Nothing spectacular, and I was hoping for a somewhat richer story, but for a movie based on a video game, it wasn't bad. Of course my favorite part was the assassin chick in the trench coat. *meow* I don't know what it is about a woman in a black trench coat. . .or maybe I do. :) I know, I'm terrible.

*Yawn*
Well the other night I sat in on the movie Apaloosa, which was some kind of western flick with some cowboys and stuff. I don't think there was any pudding involved, but that might have made this movie a little more interesting. As it stands five minutes after I saw this movie I pretty much forgot that I even watched it. How lame. Maybe I shouldn't go to movies when I'm in a bad mood.

Gloom and Doom
So after a long wait, I was finally able to sit down and watch the movie Doomsday. Uh. . . yeah, interesting flick. What I liked about it, the mood. That apocalyptic aftermath/horrific fantasy vibe is pretty solid. What I disliked about it, the story. I think they could have spent a little less time blowing crap up and eating people, and little more time to develop things. The end seemed a little dodgy too. Overall, I liked the movie, and I was able to overlook those things that bothered me and just enjoy the chaotic, screwed up, and violent ride.

Two for one today.
I thought I'd throw in a double header here, just for the fun it. A night or two ago I saw the film Traitor, staring Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce. It was a good action/suspense/thriller type of show with a few good laughs thrown in because me and my friends are wacky like that sometimes. I'd tell you what it was about, but that would just ruin it for ya.
The second movie I thought I'd mention is a little older, but still a good flick, Gangs of New York. This is one of those movies that I forget how much I like it until I watch it again, and think . . .oh yeah this is a classic. Some high points of this movie are Liam Neeson's character, I just dig the way he pulls it off, short as his part may be, it is felt through the whole movie. Leo DiCaprio, who I think was starting to come into his own on this show. And of course Daniel Day-Lewis, that man can act! My only gripe with this movie was Cameron Diaz, I think they could have found someone better to play her part, but that's just my opinion. Great story, great dialogue, and great fun. . .if that's your cup of tea.
