So Whatcha Want?
Assassins, bullets, babes, heads exploding in reverse, and rats . . . all of this the movie Wanted had to offer and more. Assassins are very big these days aren't they? While watching this I was reminded of another assassin movie Hitman, different movie, but still good. And of course who could pass up the assassin masterpiece Grosse Pointe Blank? While Wanted was a little more fantasy than the others, I still managed to enjoy myself, and I learned something . . . if your girlfriend cheats on you with your best friend, computer keyboards are very useful tools and they spell stuff too!

Stuff happened.
I felt up for a challenge, so I tried to wrap my head around M. Night Shyamalan's latest film, The Happening. I'm not going to say what it's about, even though it was ruined for me before I ever saw the movie. All in all it wasn't his best movie, but I liked it. I don't know about the title though, I think 101 Ways to Kill Yourself sounds better. Really it was an instructional film, I swear.

Big Green.
Last night me and the guys saw The Incredible Hulk film. What can I say? I'm not going to yell 'Hulk Smash!' like the hero in the Batman tee-shirt did for five minutes after the movie. *rolls eyes* I enjoyed it though, Ed Norton, Tim Roth, and Liv Tyler, this cast was just too much fun to watch. And the beat down at the end made the whole thing worth watching again. As for the cameo at the end . . .tee hee hee. Although it wasn't Sammy, it still put a big old smile on my face

And . . .
In my post on Tarentino flicks I neglected to mention the movie Death Proof. It was an oversight at the time, but looking back I think it was meant to be, because if any of his movies deserve a post all their own, Death Proof would be my pick. This movie is bizarre, not by Tarentino standards, but just in general. Originally part of the Grindhouse double feature, I didn't get to see it in the theater, and had to wait until the DVD came out. 20 minutes into the movie I was thinking, "I've just wasted $20 bucks." However, by the end of the movie, I wanted to watch it all over again. So what was the high point of this movie? When Zoe Bell looks through the window and utters those magical words, "You wanna go get him?" I can actually hear my heart melting.

There will be milk shakes!
The other night I was in the mood for melodrama and intricacy so I decided to give the movie There Will Be Blood! a watch. Very interesting story telling, and parts of it really made me wonder just what the hell I was watching here, but if it wasn't so darned fun to watch Daniel Day-Lewis do what he does best, this movie would have been a total waste of my time.

Lions, Centaurs, and Mine-o-taurs?
In the latest installment of the Narnia Movies, Prince Caspian, I found myself wishing that I could dissapear into another world for while and hang out with some dwarves. Oh wait, I do that all the time. Never mind. Great flick with sword fighting mice, sword fighting dwarves, sword fighting kids . . .and Warwick Davis! Glad to know that dude is still working.

Tarantino Flicks.
This past week I took it upon myself to rewatch my collection of Tarantino flicks. Even though there are a couple of exceptions that can slip in there, I think I covered the core of what he's produced so far. After watching, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and Kill Bill (Volumes I and II) I came to a couple of conclusions. Violence is never pretty, vulgarity is occasionally hilarious, and a story does not need to be linear to keep you interested, or least to keep me interested. Here are a couple of moments from each movie that entertained me. Reservoir Dogs: Any scene with Steve Buscemi. Pulp Fiction: "It's like a wax museum with a pulse." Jackie Brown: The final scene and the song she's singing along too. Kill Bill: Kiddo's Line to Elle about her future. And of course you can't talk about Tarantino flicks without an honorable mention to Floyd in True Romance. "Get some beer and . . .cleaning products." Classic.
