Pull
A few nights back I took in the movie Push, which all in all wasn't too bad. I have to admit that the story kind of lost me after a while though, but that might have been because I was tired . . .or stupid. Favorite parts were the gun battles, I know it's not too original, but a telekinetic gun fight could get all sorts of cool if done right. In this movie it was a little low key, but still kind of fun and it stirred the imagination. Always a good thing.

Inky
A few nights back I took up my sister's invitation to go see the film Inkheart. I thought it was a nice little movie that stirred up the imagination. The end, however, had a couple of problems for me. I won't go into what they all were, it just seemed like a little too much formula and not enough punch. Of course I'm sure the book was better than the movie, but as movies go it worked for me.

Blood and bones.
Yesterday I caught latest in Vampire and Werewolf wackiness, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. These movies have been entertaining, if nothing else, but the story in the other two seemed a bit too . . .rushed maybe, I don't know. "Oh lookie lookie the most dangerous vampire in the world. KILL IT!!!" Five minutes later. "Oh lookie the most dangerous Vampire and Werewolf in the world, quick turn into a cross-breed proto vamp-wolf chick and chop them up with helicopters." Yeah, little silly, but hey I enjoyed them. With this third instalment we go back to beginning of the war between the vamps and the wolves. It explained all of this in the first movie, but I guess it just didn't explain it enough. And when it comes right down too it, I think I prefer the story of this prequel movie over the other two. Things were a little simpler back then.

Egg all over the place.
Last night I sat in on The Spirit, or as I like to think of it, The Sam Jackson as a Nazi movie. Awesome flick, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would, and I thought I was going to like it a lot. On a whole it kind of felt like Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow crossed over with Sin City, with Sam Jackson and other people. Yeah cool show, I can't say much more about it. . .OK maybe that it was "damn weird."

Robuts.
Last week I finally got to see Wall-E. Now while I might have thought this movie was some kind of Wal-Mart propaganda film, I was pleasantly surprised that it was about a cuddly little robot instead. Like most of the the Pixar movies I've seen, I enjoyed this one too. My favorite parts were the wackos and okay, when he finally holds her hand. Maybe I'm just a closet sucker for romance.

Two movies. . .
After one long day I decided to wrap it up with some movie watching. First one for this evening was Body of Lies. Cool damn show, but I need to watch it again when I'm not so tired and having trouble following the story because I keep dozing off at the most inappropriate moments. What I liked most, of what I could follow, were the wise cracks between Crowe's character and DiCaprio's character.
Then I decided to catch a midnight showing of Quantum of Solace, the new James Bone flick. I'm still not as ga ga over these new incarnation of Bond movies, but I liked this one more that I did Casino Royal. After watching this movie I now want to go back and watch Casino. . . again because this one added a lot more to that story. Of course the action sequences in these movies are brutal, which is always cool, but I think this gave a little more insight to the character. . .or at least the new incarnation of the character and why he's so vicious. Not ultimate movie material, but they're getting better.

Quick note.
I feel like writing something but don't have big movies to report on. So I guess I'll give a comment or two on the rented or recently bought movies I've watched recently. Halloween (Rob Zombie remake): It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But I still like his music more than his movies. Street Kings: Kenau Reeves as an edgy cop? OK movie, not spectacular. Hell Ride: Um . . .no comment. Sleepy Hallow: I love this flick. As I said, not much to report on, I just felt like writing something.
