Two for one today.

I thought I'd throw in a double header here, just for the fun it. A night or two ago I saw the film Traitor, staring Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce. It was a good action/suspense/thriller type of show with a few good laughs thrown in because me and my friends are wacky like that sometimes. I'd tell you what it was about, but that would just ruin it for ya.
The second movie I thought I'd mention is a little older, but still a good flick, Gangs of New York. This is one of those movies that I forget how much I like it until I watch it again, and think . . .oh yeah this is a classic. Some high points of this movie are Liam Neeson's character, I just dig the way he pulls it off, short as his part may be, it is felt through the whole movie. Leo DiCaprio, who I think was starting to come into his own on this show. And of course Daniel Day-Lewis, that man can act! My only gripe with this movie was Cameron Diaz, I think they could have found someone better to play her part, but that's just my opinion. Great story, great dialogue, and great fun. . .if that's your cup of tea.

Burnt reading material.

Like any good Coen Bothers movie you have to go into with a suspended belief in reality, or a intense belief in reality, depending on how you view life. Their latest cinematic adventure, Burn After Reading was in a word . . . aCoenBrothersmovie. You just have to hold on and go for the ride. While this movie was more humorous than their last film, it was still oddly disturbing. Not in the violence, language, or other things that might disturb you kind of way, no it is the very possibility that it could be true. I know skeptics will tell me to stop imagining things, but I watched the X-Files . . . Favorite points of the movie: Brad Pitt's character, he almost made me shoot Sprite out of my nose. J.K. Simmons character, who did make me shoot Sprite out of my nose. And call me nuts, but it's good see see John Malkovich in a movie again. . .with an axe.

One Hell of a Movie.

Even thought I thought I was going to have to catch this one on DVD because I failed to see it two months ago, miracle of miracles it came to my town. Hellboy II: The Golden Army was a great show that I thoroughly enjoyed. I just might go see it again here one of these nights just so I can catch about half the dialogue that I missed while I was laughing, even when I should not have been. There's just something about a drunken Hellboy and Abe singing that makes me laugh, call me moronic that way. I guess at this point I just want to see the next installment, but I'll probably be waiting a while for that one. . .

Well I guess the best thing to say about the film Babylon A.D. was that the effects were cool, other than that . . . It wasn't really a bad movie, it just could have been a little better as far as I'm concerned. And yeah, the add placement started to get a little annoying, especially on the jet. If that's what the future holds for us all, Coke needs to be put down right here and now. And apparently global warming is bad, I didn't know this until I saw this movie. Thank goodness I did, or I'd have missed out on the issue. Thanks Vin.
